FAQ:  Who makes the rules?
Ans:   Chester-Mendham Twin Boro Bears is a New Jersey not-for-profit organization that consists solely of volunteers that coordinate football and cheerleading programs for the youth of our communities.

FAQ:  When does football practice start? When do scrimmages and games begin? When does the season end?
Ans:   The football season begins August 1 (league wide) for contact and typically the second or third week of August for Flag. Contact teams will have controlled scrimmages some time during the second or third week of August. Practice schedules will vary based on level. Flag and lower level contact teams have games on Saturdays, while the top 3 levels have their games on Sundays. The season currently ends the first weekend in November.

FAQ:  How do I get Equipment?
Ans:   The Bears will provide Flag players with pants and jerseys, and contact players will be provided with all the necessary pads. Protective Gear includes - Helmets, Chin Straps, Mouth Piece, Practice Pants and related pad sets, Shoulder Pads, Game Day Uniforms. The equipment and uniforms cost nearly $400 per athlete to replace, you will be asked to submit a deposit of $150 to help cover costs for damaged or lost gear. At seasons end, providing all the equipment is turned back in good condition, then your deposit will be returned in full.

FAQ:  Is Bear Football program competitive or recreational?
Ans:   The Bears are a traveling team not dissimilar to other traveling sport teams in our area. The other teams in our league most definitely are playing to win. Our goal is to teach football fundimentals and build winning attitudes in our participants, this includes great sportsmanship, hard work, team work and having fun at what you do.

FAQ:  When do I need to sign-up?
Ans:   Registration for Bears football must be completed by the second Friday in June. The league requires us to submit a team count by the following week, by not having our teams "set" at that time causes administrative issues and poor game scheduling opportunities.
