| Varsity Flag |
- Build on the “basic base” established in Freshman Flag
- Explain the team aspect of the game, each position relies on the other.
- Install basic game principles - offense and defense
- Learn and execute a basic playbook
- Kids will be taught specific positions based on their current abilities.
- Kids will be prepared for “competitive” games. Varsity Flag is expected to travel to other towns and play games that follow the rules of the MCMFL. These towns are indeed competitive and they do try to win these games, it is not simply an instructional environment. While teaching all the kids is the priority, boys will be prepared to be competitive. That does not mean win at all costs. It does mean, work hard in practice, play hard in games, follow the rules, listen to your coaches and demonstrate a winning attitude

| Clinic Blue and Red |
- Football becomes more serious and intense at these levels.
- The boys will be in full equipment and games and practices are full contact.
- Boys will be required to meet specific age and weight restrictions in order to play.
- Once again, the focus is on education, but it is within a competitive environment.
- It is critical that the boys are attentive and committed to practicing and playing. Team rules must be followed, things such as missing practice, the lack of attentiveness in practice, understanding the team playbook and individual assignments will impact game playing time. These rules will carry forward throughout their football experience.
- Just as it is taught in Freshman Flag each position effects another position, each child must learn their job and execute (this will result in a safe and successful season)
- Skills will be taught and enhanced through repetitive drills in practice.
- Strategies of the game will begin to be taught.
- Boys will be assigned specific positions based on their physical abilities, ability to learn “football” and intensity level. This is all necessary due to the fact that there will be boys on other teams that will be running as fast as they can and hitting as hard as they can, our boys need to be prepared to handle these situations. The boys will be placed in situations that will best allow them to have a positive experience.
- It is very important that the children understand that football is a TEAM SPORT. It is not about QB’s and running backs, it is about a team working together, everyone doing their individual part to better a team as a whole. In fact the players assigned to the offensive and defensive lines are some of the most important positions to a team’s success.
